Q: What do you think makes PMSI’s printing facility unique?
A: In a nutshell, we’re super flexible and efficient. Being an independently owned shop allows us to swiftly meet client needs, eliminating the bureaucratic hold-ups often encountered in larger print shops. If you need something from us, you can go directly to the person in charge and meet your needs quickly.
Q: What are some trends you are seeing in the printing industry?
A: I’m excited about the continuous growth and technological advancements in the printing industry. I’m particularly impressed with the level of information tracking available today, which allows clients to monitor their projects from start to finish, ensuring 100% satisfaction.
Q: What would you say is the most important thing for a client to consider when choosing a printing/mailing partner?
A: You have to consider both track record and size. A strong track record demonstrates reliability and expertise, while a facility’s size can determine its ability to cater to the client’s specific needs. At PMSI, clients can expect a personal touch and a dedicated team committed to their success – something that’s very difficult to find at some other print and mail houses.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working with your team?
A: We have a diverse and easy-going team. I value our camaraderie and the fact that everyone works well together. This cohesion is essential in ensuring our print and mail facility runs smoothly and efficiently.
Q: What is one thing you wish people knew about your job that they probably don’t?
A: It’s important to understand that we pride ourselves on doing a thorough, high-quality job for each client. This means that if we run into some technical issues with our equipment, I’ll go the extra mile to not only fix the problem but fix it in a way that reduces the possibility of running into the same problem again. So a repair may take a bit longer than anticipated – but that’s how we get high-quality results!
Q: What advice would you give someone interested in a career in printing?
A: I encourage those with a mechanical aptitude to take the time to visit a printing facility to truly understand the complexities of the job. Be sure to express your interests and aspirations so that you are guided towards your desired role within the industry.
Q: Tell us about your life outside of work!
A: I moved down here 15 years ago from Vermont, and I appreciate not having to deal with the cold, snow, and ice anymore! I have two grown sons, and my downtime is really important to me – I love hitting up the beach, air shows, and hot air balloon events.
Q: What do you want people to know about PMSI and how we support the unique challenges of transactional printing and direct mail marketing?
A: We’re a very driven shop. The team constantly strives for excellence, aiming to deliver the best performance and the highest quality. My advice to anyone interested in the industry is simple: come in and take a look. Come tour the facility and see just what people are doing. It’s amazing to watch.
